Southeast District Convention Ideas
July 16, 2008
Southeast District
Your District council has begun to brainstorm ideas for the 2009 Southeast District Convention and would like the input of the members of the District. We, the council, would like to create a convention that shows our continuing growth, strengthens our unity as a district, and represents us well. In this manner, we hope to bring a convention to you that is what you, as a District, want. We are asking for ideas; ideas for workshops, ideas for speakers, and also general ideas for how you see the District in the future or ways to improve in the short and long run. We encourage each and every brother of the District to send at least one idea – all thoughts, concerns, and ideas are welcome. We are looking for things we can ALL relate to in each of our chapters, things that you have accomplished that you would like to share, or topics we can look into for workshops. We are challenging you to create the convention you want to attend If that is not enough incentive, we will also take into consideration for District Awards the chapters that respond to this challenge.
In the coming week, I, David M. Smith, will be representing the Southeast District at the National District Leadership Conference for District Presidents in Oklahoma, the birth place of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma. During this conference, July 24-27,2008, I will be asked to create a “mock” convention schedule and share my thoughts on the future of the District. This is where you come in – your ideas will be put to use during this conference and shared with the National Council and the other district presidents from around the nation. So, please feel free to contact me with any of your thoughts, concerns, and questions via facebook or email at dsmith47558@troy.edu.
Always to Serve,
David M. Smith
